Meditation Techniques for Your Type

Would you like to try meditating but do not know where to start? Perhaps you have tried meditation and realised that it is not for you? Or you have meditated and found yourself more agitated after? Is your mind too busy? Or do you already meditate but you cannot get to do it regularly?

Then, whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, this workshop may be for you.

In the time that we will be together, you will experience different concentration and meditation techniques from Buddhism and a range of Yoga traditions. At the beginning of the session, Menchu will share a short handout to help you navigate through the different techniques, and as a reminder for your future reference.

This is a practical workshop which will show you various techniques to meditate and breathe. It is suitable for those who wish to improve their health or for those who are looking for a more spiritual experience. Menchu is an excellent teacher and makes meditation so relaxing and simple to do. It is a really enjoyable workshop.

Freeing Your Joints 

Whether you are a seasoned yogi/ni or a complete beginner, the Freeing Your Joints Series is a yoga practice that not only works on opening up all the major joints and strengthening the muscles in the body, but it also helps release tensions in the internal organs and in the mind. It is the perfect companion for your regular practice or to complement your other yoga classes. 

Additional benefits of practising the Freeing Your Joints Series include:

  • increasing the range of movement of the joints; 
  • developing awareness of the body’s movements and the subtle effects these have in the body;
  • removing energy blockages from the body when practised regularly;
  • regulating and stabilising the flow of energy throughout the body;
  • improving digestion;
  • calming the mind;
  • tuning up the autonomic nerves, hormonal functions and the activities of internal organs. 

At the beginning of the session, Menchu will share a short handout to help you remember the different practices.

Helped relieve any tension I carried in my shoulders. It was a tremendous relief. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who has stiff joints or any tightness in the body at all.

Release Your Spine

Taking care of your joints is a lifelong investment, and it is never too late to start. In fact, “you compromise the energy system of your body by not exercising your joints.” (Paul Grilley, founder of Yin Yoga.)

In this two and a half hour workshop, Menchu will be sharing practices that will nourish and free the connective tissues of your back, shoulders and arms, including the joints.  This workshop has been drawn from, and blended with, the experiential wisdom of Yin Yoga, Pawanmuktasana (Freeing Your Joint Series) and myofascial release, and will help you:

  • open up all the major joints of the upper body;
  • increase the range of movement in the joints;
  • relax the muscles in the body;
  • stretch the fascia and the meridians;
  • smooth the flow of energy throughout the body;
  • calm the mind.

  • relax the muscles in the body;

The workshop teaches you various simple techniques that you can practice yourself a few minutes every day to improve tension in the body and joint movement. The workshop gives background into everything that you are doing throughout and allows you to understand what you should be focusing on.

Five Elements Yin Nidra Series

These workshops draw from the Five Element Theory in Chinese Medicine. Each three hour long workshop will cover one of the five elements in relation with the relevant season and the yin organ with which it is associated. Although they form a unity, these workshops can also be taken as stand-alone. In each three hour long workshop, Menchu will briefly introduce the theory behind each seasonal element, and share a short handout with it and the list of the relevant practices as a reminder.

These workshops are mostly practical and they are suitable to everyone. They emphasise practices that you can continue doing at home for self-care, which blend Yin Yoga, Qigong, acupressure, myofascial release and Yoga Nidra.

Enriching Your Heart Energy Fire Element

A nourished heart opens ourselves to connection with others and with our deeper self. Menchu invites you to come to a practice that will aim to revitalise and enrich your heart using a variety of practices, which are beneficial to strengthen your heart energy. 

This is a class for anyone looking to build a connection with themselves. To find, pamper and listen to their heart. It’s original, wonderful and holistic. Will help one to restore stillness. Provides tools for self regulation.

Nourishing Your Spleen Energy Earth Element

The stomach and the spleen are responsible for the digestion and distribution of the nutrients to the body.  A strong spleen is essential to help us feel grounded and centred. Menchu invites you to come to a practice that will aim to nourish and revitalise your spleen using a variety of practices, which are beneficial to strengthen your spleen energy. 

Loved the pace and variety of the session. It felt very nourishing. It was lovely to share with a small group and Menchu was very mindful to suggest variations where necessary. I loved how relaxed yet mindful and explorative this practice was. It opened my eyes to Qigong, which I had never encountered previously.

Expanding Your Lung Energy Metal Element

Strong lung energy manifests as physical vitality and as the ability to let go of things that hold us back with ease. Menchu invites you to come to a practice that will aim to expand and revitalise your lungs using a variety of practices, which are beneficial to strengthen your lung energy. 

Integrating qigong movement, acupressure and yin yoga practice this class teaches you how to incorporate a self-care practice at home. As the class focuses on the lungs it can be beneficial to help release what is holding you back and practice acceptance.

Restoring Your Kidney Energy Water Element

Nourished kidneys replenish our energies and help us navigate effortlessly through the winter months. Menchu invites you to come to a practice that will aim to restore and revitalise your kidneys using a variety of practices, which are beneficial to strengthen your kidney energy. 

Such a beautifully nourishing practice. I feel so at peace after it. I loved learning the qigong. So interesting & such a beautiful pace. Myofascial release was so interesting, I cannot wait to incorporate it into my weekly routine.
